Neuchâtel Christmas Market

Neuchâtel is a city in French-speaking Switzerland located on the north-western shores of the lake of the same name, the city which is the capital of the canton of Neuchâtel is located at about 430 meters above sea level. Founded in the Middle Ages as a castle, hence the current name, from the 13th to the 16th century the city formed an autonomous county, becoming a principality at the beginning of the 17th century. The old part of Neuchâtel is very suggestive, made up as it is by narrow and steep streets, with beautiful houses and many fountains, there are over 100. The Place des Halles is very beautiful, dominated by the Maison des Halles, but the most beauty of the city is located at the top where are the imposing castle (Château de Neuchâtel) (12th century) and the 13th century Gothic church of the Collégiale, which preserves inside the important Cenotaph of the Counts of Neuchâtel from the 14th century.

NEUCHÂTEL CHRISTMAS MARKET

1) Neuchâtel Christmas Craft Market (Les Artisanales de Noël). During one week, immersed in the Christmas atmosphere, almost 200 artisans will present their original creations in this which is the largest craft market in Switzerland. The market takes place on the Place du Port in Neuchâtel in a large heated tent.

2) Christmas market in Coq d’Inde square. This fabulous Christmas market take place in one of the most beautiful squares in the city of Neuchâtel. Special animations for children: carousel with wooden horses, stories in the caravan of the fair.
