Krakow, the ancient capital of Poland, is the most important tourist destination in the country, the city is known for its beautiful old town from the spectacular architecture rich in Gothic churches and Baroque palaces.

The main attractions of the city include the Main Market Square (Rynek Glowny), which is overlooked by the Renaissance palace Sukiennice (Cloth Hall) and the Basilica of Saint Mary. Other buildings of great value are the Wawel Castle and Wawel Cathedral (with the famous Sigismund bell) both in the Gothic style, the gate of St. Florian and the Barbican, both part of the old medieval city walls.

Very beautiful and interesting are the many museums in the city including the Czartoryski Museum, which houses the famous Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci.
