Biel-Bienne Christmas Market

Biel/Bienne, the center of Switzerland’s watch industry, some of the most famous Swiss watches are produced here. Biel/Bienne is a beautiful city in the canton of Bern, its historic center is very beautiful, although small, it contains interesting old buildings and offers truly suggestive views. Biel/Bienne is the largest officially bilingual city in Switzerland, the inhabitants speak German (55%) and French (28%), while Italian is spoken by 6% of the population.

1) Biel-Bienne Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt Biel – Marché de Noël à Bienne). The Biel-Bienne Christmas market is one of the largest in the Bern region, in its stands you can find a wide range of Christmas objects: Christmas decorations, candles, glass, porcelain, ceramics, Advent wreaths, toys in wood and cribs. The gastronomic offer with delicacies such as Wildsaubratwurst or Förstertee is also interesting.

The Biel-Bienne Christmas market is made up of more than 80 houses with a total of about 90 exhibitors displaying sought-after handicraft products, it is one of the most beautiful and largest markets in the region. The market takes place in the central square (Zentralplatz) and along the Nidaugasse and the Marktgasse.
