The Hertfordshire is a county of eastern England. The county is bordered to the north by Bedfordshire, to the north-east by the Cambridgeshire, to the east by Essex, to the south by Greater London and to the west by Buckinghamshire. The county is mostly flat and only in the north-west area lie the hills of the Chilterns. The territory is mainly drained by the river Lea (also called Lee) that flows into the Thames after crossing Hertford, the county seat, and Cheshunt. The county being situated at the northern edge of Greater London is densely populated. In the west there are the large urban centers of Hemel Hempstead, Watford and St Albans. The most important city of the north of the county is Stevenage. For the British people Christmas it is one of the most important holidays of the year. The Christmas markets are a rather recent tradition imported from Germany. Here is a list of the most popular Christmas markets in Hertfordshire.
