Yorkshire is a northeastern historic county of England. The county is now divided between different official regions. The historic boundaries of Yorkshire are the River Tees to the north, the Humber to the south, the North Sea to the east and the Pennines to the west. Yorkshire geography is characterized by large expanses protected by the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. It is also home to major urban centers of Leeds and Sheffield, which are among the most populous of England. The City of Leeds is Yorkshire’s largest city.
