Galway Christmas Market 2018

The Galway Continental Christmas Market is composed of more than 50 wooden chalets  located in 2 locations – Eyre Sq & Spanish Arch. They are just 500 metres (a 7 minute walk via the main shopping streets) apart from each other. The market will offer typical German culinary products and will also feature artisan food products and Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.

Opening Hours: Monday – Wednesday: 12 noon – 8pm. Thursday – Sunday: 10am – 10pm.

Waterford is the oldest of the seven cities of the Republic of Ireland and is known worldwide as the City of crystals for the production of traditional and historic crystals. Today is an average tourist town, Waterford – Ireland’s oldest city – was founded by the Vikings in 914 AD. Waterford is the home of Ireland’s Christmas Festival. Winterval is Ireland’s Christmas Festival taking place in Waterford. It is a festival dedicated to Christmas that is full of attractions. Among the most beautiful and popular attractions you will find: Christmas Carousel, Yule Viking Settlement, Winterval Express Train, Horse Drawn Sleigh, Santa’s Grotto at The Medieval Museum, Vintage Ferris wheel, Exploration Dome Bishops Palace, Helter Skelter, Winterval Lightshow, Singing Christmas Tree Palace Square, Ballybricken Vintage Fair, Waterford on Ice: the Quay, Bad Santa, Live Animal Crib, WAMA Santa’s Giant Post Box and also Winterval Christmas Market.

Winterval Christmas Market takes place at three locations: Cathedral Square, Bishop’s Palace and Arundle Square.

Wicklow Christmas Market is set in the magical and historical Abbey grounds in Wicklow Town, taking place from 12 – 6 pm on the weekends of 8th 9th, 15th 16th, and 22nd of December. Between the selection of local artisan foods, decorations, gifts, workshops and visiting Santa himself at Santa’s Grotto, there will be an abundance of fun and sparkly activities to get you and your family in the Christmas mood. To add a little extra touch of excitement and Christmas cheer, we have a number of music and entertainment bookings to dazzle your senses, along with a magical family funfair within the historical Abbey Grounds. We’ll also be hosting an Alpaca experience, where adults and children will get a chance to mingle with all things woolly and wonderful. Sound like fun? Whether you’re local or coming from Dublin City Centre or even further afield, this promises to be an event worth going to, accessible by both car and public transport. Bus Eireann’s 133 will drop you right outside the grounds, the train dropping you at Wicklow Town station 5 minutes away, and ample parking spaces within walking distance of our scenic home, The Abbey Grounds. This is a non-ticketed event, so anyone and everyone is welcome to attend and browse through our stalls and treat-filled venue . This is a wheelchair and buggy friendly event not to be missed.
