Toulouse Christmas Market

Toulouse, the capital of the Midi-Pyrenees region, and one of the most important French cities. An ancient city founded by the Romans, it is today full of prestigious buildings such as those of the Augustinian Monastery – in Gothic style, dating back to the Middle Ages -, or like the Romanesque basilica of Saint-Sernin (11th century) – declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site humanity as a place of pilgrimage on the route to Santiago de Compostela -, the Cathedral of Saint-Etienne, the town hall (Capitole) and the church of Notre-Dame du Taur. The Toulouse Christmas Market is the most important event of the Christmas period in the capital of the Midi-Pyrénées region. The Christmas market usually takes place in the Place du Capitole and is enveloped in the classic scent of gingerbread, roasted chestnuts, wine and hot chocolate.

During the Advent period, the city of Toulouse is usually enlivened by numerous events, among the most important and popular there is certainly the Christmas Market with its stalls full of gift ideas, handicrafts, Christmas decorations and local food products such as foie gras, cakes, jams and Christmas sweets. The market usually takes place in the central Place du Capitole. To complement the Christmas events in Toulouse, the city offers musical and theatrical events, games and activities for children, acrobats and jugglers. During the Christmas holidays, a supportive Christmas market is also usually organized where numerous exhibitors participate, offering works that respect man and the environment, these are generally proposals of French craftsmanship or those from foreign countries, but always in compliance with fair trade and supportive.
