Besançon Christmas Market

Besançon, the ancient Vesontium of the Romans, capital of Franche-Comté, located a short distance from the border with Switzerland, is a city with a rich historical and cultural heritage, notable for its system of fortifications (fortifications Vauban) dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries century and which has earned it inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. During the Christmas period, the Besançon Christmas Market is the most popular event in the capital of Franche-Comté. During the Christmas holidays, the city center of Besançon is dressed in Christmas lights and the squares come alive with the magic of Christmas. In the evening, the city of Besançon is illuminated by thousands of lights that invite you to take a magical walk.
