1) Christmas Market (Freiburger Weihnachtsmarkt). The Christmas market in Freiburg transforms the historic city center in a large Christmas village offering in more than 100 wooden houses a comprehensive range of craft and commercial products typical of Christmas. The Christmas market in Freiburg takes place in the historical center, between the Rathausplatz and Franziskanerstrasse (Rathausplatz, Kartoffelmarkt, Unterlindenplatz und in der Franziskaner- und Turmstraße), a few steps from the Cathedral square (Münsterplatz).
Much of the market is devoted to Christmas and craft products, here you can find toys and wooden objects, puppets and plush toys, Christmas decorations, cribs, scarves and hats, ceramic and glass objects, nutcracker and candles. During your visit to Freiburg you have to visit the workshop of the candles, where you can buy a candle tailored. While the kids can have fun to improvise confectioners in the Weihnachtsbäckerei (Christmas pastry).
