Annecy Christmas Market

Annecy is a beautiful town in the Upper Savoy, which overlooks the shores of the lake of the same name. Located between Geneva and Chambery, the history of Annecy has been profoundly influenced by the two neighboring cities, until the fifteenth century it was part of the County of Geneva, before moving on to the Duchy of Savoy to which it remained linked until the transfer of all of Savoy to France in 1860. The historic center of Annecy – the old city – is very nice to visit, interesting are the rue Sainte-Claire and the rue Royale, among the attractions the Palais de l’Isle (the old prison), the Castle ( Château d’Annecy), the Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre d’Annecy).
