Rochester Christmas Market

Rochester-Chatham is a town in Kent which is located along the River Medway about 50 kilometers east of London, the city’s history begins with its founding by the Romans, who named it Durobrivae. Rochester was continuously inhabited in the Middle Ages. A Norman castle and cathedral were built in the eleventh century, these two buildings are still the main visitor attractions of the city. The castle, which is located in the center of the town, is a superb example of Norman military architecture. The cathedral which is the second oldest of England, is a mix of architectural styles ranging from Romanesque to Gothic. Rochester is now also famous for being the place where, for over 10 years, the writer Charles Dickens lived and where he set several of his works.
