The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, which in the past was the most important port in the country, is nestled along the river Weser. The historic center of Bremen (Altstadt) is really impressive, and has its most beautiful building in the town hall (Bremer Rathaus) richly decorated. This building along with the statue of Roland on the marketplace of Bremen was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The historic center of Bremen during the Christmas time appears in all its glory, the Christmas lights illuminate the streets with the shops festively decorated and the Christmas market – which consists of more than 170 wooden stalls – takes place in front of the Rathaus – the old town hall the city – surrounded by the scent of the aroma of freshly roasted almonds, gingerbread and mulled wine. The Christmas market in Bremen is one of the most spectacular of Germany.

Bremen Christmas Market (Weihnachtsmarkt Bremen). The atmospheric Christmas market in Bremen, considered one of the finest in Germany, invites you to be seduced by the more than 170 stand decorated with typical Christmas decorations. The market takes place in the Old Town (Altstadt) around the Town Hall (Bremer Rathaus) and the Cathedral St. Petri. Along the Böttcherstrasse is reached the enchanting Schlachte on the Weser with the historic market with the maritime atmosphere. Music lovers will not want to miss the concerts of Advent and the organ concerts that take place in the churches.
